Billy Bragg wrote many protest songs in the late 80's early 90's and is something of a hero for many people. This singer/songwriter/political activist was originally a member of the group Riff Raff. Jail Guitar Doors is an independent initiative set up by Billy Bragg with the aim of providing musical equipment for the use of inmates serving time in Her Majesty’s prisons. The songs on Back to Basics were... well, basic, in that it was just Bragg and his guitar. No drums or bass or anything, which makes for an intoxicatingly intimate vibe throughout the whole thing.
