If the mind was to be the site of resistance, only the imagination could make it so. To imagine, then, was a way to begin the process of transforming reality, where I could bring the broken bits and pieces of myself and put them together again, the places where I could dream about alternative realities, possible futures. All that we cannot imagine will never come into being.

Thanx for all jumps!!!

The state of mind and other circumstances

It is sometimes so bitterly cold in the winter that one says, `The cold is too awful for me to care whether summer is coming or not; the harm outdoes the good.’
But with or without our approval, the severe weather does come to an end eventually and one fine morning the wind changes and there is the thaw.

Ry Cooder

Tagus Cove

Blood Orange

Whatever the thing you wish to say, there is but one word to express it, but one verb to give it movement, but one adjective to qualify it; you must seek until you find this noun, this verb, this adjective … .
When you pass a grocer sitting in his doorway, a porter smoking a pipe, or a cab stand, show me that grocer and that porter … in such a way that I could never mistake them for any other grocer or porter, and by a single word give me to understand wherein the cab horse differs from fifty others...

Jesus Of Suburbia

When I wake up just before dawn and hear the throbbing voices of birds as they echo against the silence, I am overpowered by yearning. When I ride in the dark on stark roads through dry, bald hills, I ache with desperate longing. I don’t know what I am longing for, maybe for some place of my own within these images, some place where I fit. Maybe that ache is loneliness. I haven’t found a name for the feeling yet, nor do I know exactly what awakes in me. I try to find some way to share them. That is why I write. It’s instinctive. I just have to—because it is awake like lava in my blood, and sustains me.

Car Radio

There comes a time when you look into the mirror and you realize that what you see is all that you will ever be, you accept it, you kill yourself, or you stop looking in mirrors.

Something vague

If you have only one smile in you, give it to your family or the people you love. Don’t be surly at home, then go out in the street and start grinning “Good morning” at total strangers. In the Universe the easy things are done as if they were difficult .

The sun also sets

If you see yourself as a shadowy figure unworthy of sons, family,  unworthy of developing interest, unworthy of wondering about the world -  everything becomes a pseudo intellectual question you have no interest in responding whatsoever. And it does not merely affect you; it actually defines you and this whole process becomes your skin. So, you see yourself profoundly unworthy in every sense and deeply absent in your very presence.

Dig deep, power up

I want to rip off your logic and my fingers will dig in you like quotation marks, blazing your limbs into parts of speech.

A just world in the realm of possibility

We want to see the problem solved, but what is most interesting, is that it can’t be. At the same time, you have to engage those issues and not ignore them. And sometimes the problems are really big and someone want make it all messy on purpose. The notion that the world is itself a rational place might just be the greatest hallucination of all?

Dogs believe they are human. Cats believe they are God.

Our lives are not our own. We are bound to others, past and present, and by each crime and every kindness. And you are allowed to feel messed up and inside out. It doesn't mean you're defective - it just means you're human. I don’t have any time to stay up all night worrying about what someone, who doesn’t respect me, has to say about me.

The time is the speed at which the past disappears.

Bird by bird

Writing and reading decrease our sense of isolation. They deepen and widen and expand our sense of life: they feed the soul. When writers make us shake our heads with the exactness of their prose and their truths, and even make us laugh about ourselves or life, our buoyancy is restored. We are given a shot at dancing with, or at least clapping along with, the absurdity of life, instead of being squashed by it over and over again. It’s like singing on a boat during a terrible storm at sea. You can’t stop the raging storm, but singing can change the hearts and spirits of the people who are together on that ship.

The Five Senses

On the road, we sleep, just as well, exhilarated about leaving the equilibrium of being a statue, about abandoning the thesis, in order to embrace deviation. Leaving your house behind is the beginning of a metaphysics - what exists beyond; but as fear takes a hold of him, the adventurer builds a boat. Our house is open, there are no keys in the doors, and our invisible guests come in and out at will.
